Restoration & Conservation

Restoration

We offer a wide range of experience and knowledge when it comes to restoring the historical fabric of Scotland. Knowing how to do the job as well as why is a massive part of our systems and processes when it comes to sandstone restoration. We know what materials to use and where to use them, the importance of having ‘like for like’ stones in the building and using traditional methods to carry out the work.

Conservation

Our approach to conservation is we try and preserve as much of the original material as possible. We also use the most authentic methods and materials in conservation efforts, whether it be sourcing local materials or using specific techniques to match the original build or pointing style. Conservation is heritage and it is important to treat our buildings and stonework in the most ethical ways possible to us.
